Kedah’s Brazilian duo staring at early exit

THE future of Kedah’s two Brazilian imports could be numbered after caretaker coach Nidzam Adzha Yusof said he plans to meet the FA’s management to discuss hiring new players.

Kedah are the only team not to have scored after three games in the Super League and the Brazilians have failed to impress with Danilo Vivaldo missing after sustaining an injury in a freak training incident.

Defender Vivaldo has only played one game; the opening 3-0 loss to Kuala Terengganu T-Team; before rolling his ankle over a pole left unattended at the Darulaman Stadium during a training session while striker Daniel Soares Neves, the other foreign signing, has not found the back of the net after three games.

Following Tuesday’s 0-0 draw with PKNS in Petaling Jaya, Nidzam said if Kedah need to find new foreign players, then that is what they must do after the FA of Malaysia extended the transfer window to Feb 13.

“I was very disappointed with the way we played, especially in the first half. The foreign players have not performed to the best of their ability. I will need to discuss with the management on what to do.

“If we need to change the import players, then just change them.

“When we meet Kelantan (in Alor Star) on Friday (tomorrow), I will field only local players if that is what I must do,” said Nidzam, who is standing in as Kedah coach for the suspended Wan Jamak Wan Hassan.

Kedah’s blunt attack was laid bare for all to see when they hardly tested PKNS goalkeeper Razi Effendi Suhit and the result leaves them in 13th place with just two points.

Despite the gloom, there was some cheer when skipper Baddrol Bakhtiar made his first appearance of the season when he came on to replace Neves in the 72nd minute, after recovering from a thigh injury.

Baddrol, who led Malaysia to Sea Games gold in November, was greatly missed by Kedah although he cautioned against expecting too much from him too soon.

“I’m glad to be able to play again and I want to help Kedah to win games.

“I think we are capable of playing better but I have to be careful not push myself back too soon so as not to aggravate my injury,” said Baddrol, who in pre-season had been linked with a move to Pelita Jaya, Safee Sali’s Indonesian club. By Devinder Singh

p/s: ada sumber lak kata Baroni tak puaih ati dengan Nizam Adha sebab sebelum game nak letak dia men attacking midfield, tapi bila dah sepak mola, suh Baroni men striker lak. tu yang Baroni panas tu sebab dia sendiri dah bagitau dia lebih selesa (nak boh perkataan terer takut silap lak) bila men kat tengah. mungkin sebab tu la ada orang kata nilai game Baroni ni bila dia dah main kat tengah, bukannya striker.
