Mohamed to sell Fulham for £150million
MOHAMED FAYED is to sell Fulham in a £150million takeover deal with one of the
world’s richest men.
An announcement could take place as early as tomorrow following secret
negotiations with US billionaire Shahid Khan.
Khan, 62, is the owner of American football’s Jacksonville Jaguars and is
looking for a London base for his NFL franchise.
Now he is on the verge of an agreement with Fayed, who bought Fulham for
£6.25m in 1997 and has invested more than £200m in interest-free loans.
Pakistani-born Khan — recently named by Forbes magazine as the 491st richest
in the world — moved to the US aged 16 and made his fortune manufacturing
car parts.
He would become the fifth US-based Premier League owner, following the
Glazers, Stan Kroenke, JW Henry and Randy Lerner.
