Marca piece together what Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid side could look like
In need of a pick-me-up after a terrible week of football in Spain,
Marca have let their imaginations run wild conjuring up a graphic of
what Real Madrid’s XI could look like next season.
As everyone expects Carlo Ancelotti to ditch Paris for Madrid, the Italian is predicted to make some major at the club.
What isn’t gonna change, though, is Cristiano Ronadlo’s presence at
Los Blancos.
Despite incessant talk in England that Ronaldo could move
back to Manchester United, Marca believe the Portuguese superstar will
remain at the Bernbeau, while others including Casillas, Ramos, Marcelo,
Varane, Ozil, Modric and Benzema will also stay put.
But there are fresh faces to consider.
Bayer Leverkusen right back Daniel Carvajal is a top target for Real,
whilst the midfield is set for a remake with Geoffrey Kondogbia
(Sevilla), Marco Verratti (PSG) and Ilkay Gundogan (Dortmund) all names
in the shopping cart.
Up front, 20-year-old youth team striker Álvaro Morata is expected to
challenge Benzema for the main striking role. Gonzalo Higuain is
nowhere in the picture as the Argentine is expected to leave the club.
