Ronaldo sets new UCL record
Despite also having a penalty saved during the match, Ronaldo set the
new record at the start of the second half, doubling Real’s lead in the
process.
The forward expressed his delight on the club's official website,
saying: "The objective is complete, the team played very well on a field
that was very bad. I've broken a record in the Champions League and I'm
very happy.
"The team is very good, confident, and playing attractive football. I'm coming back bit by bit. I'm at a good level, but not my best. I feel good and eager to help the team.
"All goals are important for the team and it was special to break the record today, but I don't think about records. The main goal is to win."

Five players, including Ronaldo, had previously scored eight goals in
the group stage, but the Portugal international has now eclipsed by the
mark set by Hernan Crespo, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Filippo Inzaghi and
Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Ronaldo’s goal also created another milestone as it was Real’s 800th in European competition.
