EDWIN VAN DER SAR: The United No. 1 has been as good this season as at any time in his career 9
RAFAEL: ANSWER to Gary Neville's retirement. Good defender and excellent going forward 7
FABIO: CAN'T tell the twins apart off the pitch and it is increasingly difficult to do so on it as well 7
JONNY EVANS: UNITED career looked in doubt when he was part of the back four that lost 4-0 to West Ham in the Carling Cup but steadier of late 6
JOHN O'SHEA: CAN be relied upon when called in to the first team 6
RIO FERDINAND: WHEN fit there is no better reader of the game 8
NEMANJA VIDIC: HAS loved having captaincy and sets the standards with his no nonsense defending 8
CHRIS SMALLING: HAS thrived at United since his switch last summer 8
PATRICE EVRA: NOT best season but only Ashley Cole can match him in this country at left-back 7
ANDERSON: LACKS consistency but on his day he is formidable 6
RYAN GIGGS: As good now as he has ever been. His performances in the two legs of the Champions League quarter-final against Chelsea were expceptional. 9
JI-SUNG PARK: The real unsung hero of this team. A dynamo in the centre of midfield breaking up whatever the opposition try to create then forces United forward. 8
MICHAEL CARRICK: In the first half of the season he struggled and the fans got on his back. In the second-half he produced some of the best football of his career. 8
NANI: With ten goals and nearly twice as many assists the Portuguese winger has had a huge influence on this season for United. 8
PAUL SCHOLES: Could be his final season. Has not been able to hit the highs at the end in the same way Giggs has but still keeps posession superbly. 6
DARREN FLETCHER: A virus has wrecked his season and he faces the heartbreak of missing out on another Champions League final after being suspended for 2009. 6
ANTONIO VALENCIA: A shocking ankle injury in September kept him out of action until March but the winger has given the team a major boost with his return. 7
DARRON GIBSON: Not everyone's favourite as he quickly found out when he joined twitter. Early promise is starting to fade and those long range shots are hitting the stands. 6
DIMITAR BERBATOV: The teams top scorer with 22 goals but found himself on the bench when the big games came up in the run-in. Ferguson prefers the pace of Hernandez. 8
WAYNE ROONEY: Awful first half to the season but since February 1st he has been the most influential player at the club. Champions League Final could be his. 9
JAVIER HERNANDEZ: He was bought for the future but is very much the star here and now. An incredible 20 goals in his debut season for the club. 9
Others (league appearances); Kuszczak 5 apps, Bebe 2, Hargreaves 1, Macheda 7, Neville 3, Obertan 7, Brown 7.
ALEX FERGUSON: The master has done it again. He has made an average United team great and now aims for it to go down in legend with victory over Barcelona. 10
