Gibraltar team graphic reveals players’ actual professions ahead of competitive debut
Teeny-tiny Gibraltar made their competitive debut on Sunday in their
Euro 2016 qualifying opener against Poland, and if you were wondering to
yourself: “Gibraltar? Do they even have professional footballers in
Gibraltar?” then you would’ve enjoyed this pre-match graphic on TV:
Indeed, Gibraltar were only able to field two professional players in
their starting XI against Poland.
But with a population of only 30,000
people, that might actually be considered quite impressive!
Poland, meanwhile, they boast a full squad of professional players, including all-world forward Robert Lewandowski.
You’re not going to believe this, but Poland crushed Gibraltar, 7-0, behind four goals from Lewandowski.
